100 pioneering feats each year
Every year, we carry out about 100 projects for our clients: Consumer goods destined for series production and exclusive custom products, such as for space engineering. And they are always associated with pioneering feats – large or small. Our projects in non-imaging optics range from laser gap sensors for mobile robots, through interior lighting in aircraft, to street lighting that sets unique standards as far as energy efficiency is concerned. We formulate and deliver concepts ranging from medical lamps, through a wide array of small electrical appliances or headlamps, to lighting design for use in pioneering contemporary architecture.
In order to offer you maximum planning safety we proceed in three phases At the end of each one, opportunities and risks are weighted against each other and (further) objectives reevaluated.
In Phase 1 we find out about your requirements, carry out a feasibility analysis and work out various concepts for your assignment. At the end a concept is selected, approved and a time scedule is established.
After you have selected on of the proposed concepts and together we have drawn up the specification we aplly our methods of calculation in Phase 2. We carry out modelling in LightTools® or CODE V®, conduct simulations and produce the CAD data for an operational prototype
In Phase 3 we validate the optical performance of the prototype. Together we define the targets for volume production with specific focus on mechanical integration, manufactoring technology and tolerances. This is followed by a revision process and analysis of tolerances. We provide process support at the beginning of series production and achieve maximum function with minimum expenditure in this approach.
