Tailoring of optical surfaces

Why we calculate where others use trial and error? Because we know how to.

Our objective is to turn results from science and research into products that are ready for market. Due to our scientific roots we are convinced that only a clear and complete physical comprehension of the task at hand makes an ideal solution possible. That’s why we always consider every aspect of a problem and align ourselves with the leading edge of physics.

Research vs. Trial and Error:  OEC company founder, Professor Harald Ries, developed the unique technology of 2D and 3D optical tailoring. This permits complex mirrors or lenses to be calculated within a practical development timeframe.

Calculation pays off:  Experience shows that this approach also pays off in terms of cost efficiencies. For contrary to the common approach we don’t carry out extensive testing with lenses and reflectors until we achieve the desired effect. Instead we calculate everything form scratch. Overall, this saves a great deal of time and a lot of expensive testing with prototypes.

Think Tank and Center of Excellence: Through our technology for 3D optical tailoring and the development of our methodology we are counted among the leaders of innovation concerning the targeted distribution of light. No wonder OEC is regarded a center of excellence for lighting issues. This is backed up by the great interest in our lecturing activities, numerous patent applications and a growing number of highly satisfied clients from the most diverse areas of application.
